SPIRE Masters Winter Classic Swim Meet

February 18-19, 2012

On February 18-19, SPIRE Masters is hosting their short course meters Winter Classic Meet at the SPIRE Aquatic Center. This competition is open to all registered USA-Masters swimmers. Swimmers can also register with USA-Masters the day of the meet.

• Sat. Feb. 18, 2012 Warm-ups: 10:00 a.m. Deck entries until 10:50 a.m. Meet: 11:00 a.m.
• Sun. Feb. 19, 2012 Warm-ups: 9:00 a.m. Deck entries until 9:50 a.m. Meet: 10:00 a.m.

Dinner Presentation with U.S.A. Coaching Icon Don Easterling - February 18, 2012

In conjunction with the swim meet, SPIRE will be hosting a dinner presentation Saturday evening with U.S.A. coaching icon Don Easterling. For over 40 years Coach Easterling set the benchmark for excellence inc college and club coaching. Easterling has coached Olympians in four decades, the 1968, 1976, 1980 and 1996 Olympics (breaking three world records, winning five gold medals and three bronze medals), won 17 conference championships at N.C. State, and has been a U.S. National Team head coach on multiple occasions. Coach Easterling has been inducted into the U.S. Swimming Coaches Hall of Fame, and Texas Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame.  

Come join Coach Easterling for a memorable dinner and motivational presentation!  There will be a cocktail hour from approximately 5:00pm to 6:00pm followed by the dinner and presentation at 6:00pm.

Masters Swim Clinic with The Ohio State University Head Men's Swim Coach, Bill Wadley - February 19, 2012

At the conclusion of the swim competition on Sunday, SPIRE will offer an exclusive masters swim clinic with Ohio State Head Men's Coach, Bill Wadley. Swimmers will receive two hours of intensive in-water technique instruction on all four strokes from legendary coach Wadley and the expert SPIRE Institute coaching staff.
