Elementary classrooms take part in MAC Volleyball Adopt-A-Team

Sixteen classrooms help raise interest

Geneva, Ohio – November 14, 2012 – Sixteen classrooms grades 1-6 participated in MAC Volleyball’s Adopt-A-Team, in which classrooms and teams communicate throughout the season. MAC Volleyball will host a Meet n’ Greet for those students on Thursday, November 15th from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. This is an additional opportunity for the students to meet the athletes in-person, participate in some volleyball activities, make posters, take photos with their team and get autographs! Media is welcome and should contact Diana Munz at 440.466.1002 or

“My students are very excited to participate. We are completing a packet that shows how far each player’s hometown and university is from our hometown, compiling information on the population and other facts/festivals celebrated in their hometown, and calculating the amount of time it would take to travel to their hometowns. We made posters for our team and each of the players, and we will continue to write letters and send pictures,” said N. Hamper, from Jefferson Elementary.

The MAC Volleyball Adopt-A-Team Program was created to develop a community base for MAC schools traveling to SPIRE, generate interest in the sport, create relationships between players and students and to allow students a new avenue for learning and communicating.
