Collegiate Timeout

SPIRE Continues Their Promise of Uninterrupted Competition by extending the College Time Out Program.

With continued restrictions as a result of COVID, many student athletes are wondering if there is anything in place to allow them to continue their development and training. Teams and individual athletes trained at SPIRE in 2020 and 2021 when their programs were suspended. College Time Out Program is for athletes in basketball, swimming, track & field and wrestling programs that have been temporarily postponed or suspended.

Students to stay on campus and take advantage of a customized training program. Access to our facilities is available to those participating, providing students the means to train in their respective sports, despite the absence of an official competitive season. We expect to have enough players participating to arrange plenty of competitive play, so athletes can still put their skills training and discipline to the test. Not only does this program provide a competitive outlet, but it will allow players to have routine ways to identify the things they need to focus on in practice.

Full potential cannot be achieved with physical training alone, which is why our other facilities will be available as part of this program as well. Mental skills training, nutrition education and plenty of other offerings will be available to help students continue the development of their character, leadership and communication skills. This curriculum will come together with athletics to give every student the uncompromised training they’ve come to expect from SPIRE.

Housing may be provided, and three nutritious meals a day are served at SPIRE Fuel. Our performance training coaches are standing by and ready to go. Academic counselors are available to assist each student athlete, as appropriate, with their virtual/distance learning collegiate courses. Throughout all of this, we follow extremely stringent coronavirus guidelines across the entire campus to ensure the SPIRE experience is as safe and healthy as possible for students and staff alike.

Program Highlights:

  • SPIRE’s campus is located in Geneva, Ohio about 40 minutes east of Cleveland

  • This program is offered by the week, the month, or by one or two semesters

  • SPIRE has two brand new Dr. Dish shooting machines for basketball players

  • Practice may run 4.5-5 hours per day including swimming, dryland and weights

  • SPIRE’s Performance Training Center is an integral component of this program

  • College coaches are welcomed to interact with their players and our coaches, as appropriate (i.e. as allowed by the NCAA)

Our Commitment to Uninterrupted Competition

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced institutions such as ours to drastically rethink our operations. Like our motivated athletes, we will adapt and push forward so we can continue to provide elite training to every student.
